For his creations, Sicilian art blacksmith and designer Antonino Sciortino always draws on his own memories or finds inspiration in the rich history of his native region. At the same time, Sciortino is always looking for a new accent that will intrigue the user.
“In Moro vases, the use of sheet steel coated with an old, dark patina (hence the name) elevates the simple form to the status of an ode to brutalism. The dark patina attracts the eye without distracting attention from the shape, the true protagonist of my creations. »
