Christian Dior Scarf – Burgundy Velvet
Selection of luxury vintage jewellery - Unique & authentic
Description
Christian Dior scarf in burgundy velvet, featuring a repetitive raised graphic motif composed of cartouches bearing the inscription “CHRIS 1947”, a reference to the year the house was founded by Christian Dior.
This model dates from the period when John Galliano was artistic director at Dior (1996-2011). During this period, the house frequently revisited its heritage by reinterpreting its founding symbols, notably 1947, the year of the famous New Look, which marked the history of couture.
The scarf stands out for its raised all-over motif, composed of stylised plaques reminiscent of stamps or metal plates, repeating the words “CHRIS 1947”. This graphic design gives the piece a very modern, architectural look, characteristic of Dior accessories from the 2000s.
This scarf is in very good condition and has no particular major flaws.
