A deep black background reveals a rich composition of stylised flowers and foliage, bordered in gold like set cabochons and intertwined with long strands of white pearls. It is a print that draws directly on the house's costume jewellery vocabulary: pearls, coloured stones, and golden settings. The pattern is arranged in concentric wreaths that tighten towards the centre, giving breathing room to the black base, with the Chanel signature printed in one corner.

At Chanel, the silk square is an object in its own right, just like a handbag or a tweed jacket. This one is woven and printed in Italy, in 100% silk, and finished with hand-rolled edges — that rolled hem sewn by hand that gives the square its subtle relief around the border and its distinctive drape when tied.

The 135 × 135 cm format changes everything. At this size, the piece moves beyond the scarf category: it can be worn as a shawl over the shoulders, folded into a triangle around the neck, wrapped as a headband in the hair, or tied directly at the waist as a wrap skirt over swimwear or jeans. The black background makes it surprisingly easy to style, despite the richness of the colours.

Overall good condition, grade B — this item shows slight signs of previous use, with no major flaws to report: no holes, no odours.
