Ajrak - Bed Runner - Cotton Velvet

The Ajrak bed runner charms with its interplay of textures and artisanal character. Designed to be placed at the foot of the bed, it combines a soft, plain cotton velvet reverse with a printed face rich in detail and craftsmanship.

Its pattern is created using an exacting traditional Indian technique: the fabric is prepared, hand block-printed with ancestral motifs, and then dyed using natural pigments.

Ajrak’s colours come exclusively from plant dyes, such as indigo blue, pomegranate yellow, or brownish hues derived from rhubarb root. This artisanal method imbues the fabric with a unique richness and a vibrant feel. Over time and with use, the shades evolve and develop a natural patina, enhancing the authentic charm of each piece.
