This vintage Yves Saint Laurent necklace is a rare and particularly charming archive piece — the reversible deconstructed heart pendant, with its sapphire-blue cabochon on one side and green on the other, offers the extraordinary privilege of having two pieces of jewellery in one, to change according to your mood, outfit or the season.
Yves Saint Laurent always loved playing with colour as much as emotion — his costume jewellery from the 1970s and 1980s bears witness to a creative freedom and attention to detail that radically set it apart from ordinary fashion jewellery. This deconstructed heart, whose shape deliberately departs from classic symmetry to gain character and modernity, is the perfect illustration. The domed glass cabochon, bezel-set in the gold-toned setting, captures and diffuses light with captivating intensity — cobalt blue on one side, deep green on the other.
The fine gold-plated twisted chain, light and delicate, can be worn as an elegant choker thanks to its adjustable length between 38 and 44 cm via an extension chain at the back. The YSL hallmark, engraved on a charm medal, discreetly authenticates this archive piece, which carries the house’s creative DNA in all its purity — before the 2012 rebranding.
