Moschino is the house that put language on clothing. Franco Moschino, who founded it in 1983, spent his career subverting the codes of Italian luxury with printed slogans, parodied logos and messages that gently mocked the industry that sustained him. Where his Milanese peers embroidered monograms, he wrote sentences.
These earrings apply the principle to jewellery. A simple circular medallion in gold-tone metal, without stones or ornamentation, engraved with the slogan “Moschino Be Good”. The entire piece lies in this contrast: the most classic form imaginable — the gold disc, the timeless form of an earring — and a message that shifts the meaning. You read the jewellery before looking at it.
The result is more wearable than one might think. The design is crisp, minimalist and uncluttered: these earrings work just as well with jeans and a plain jumper as with an evening outfit, to which they bring a welcome touch of irony. At 3 cm high, they have a real presence, yet they are very lightweight — genuinely comfortable all day long. The fitting is clip-on, with a secure mechanism and no piercing required.
