Description
La Mère, Marie Michielssen's first ceramic tableware collection, is an affectionate ode to the (grand)mother figure and to women in general. The collection appears slightly nostalgic, while being innovative in many respects thanks to its vertical structure. Each shape is unique and hand-moulded. All pieces are finished with an off-white or warm dark brown, almost black, glaze. As a third contrasting colour, Marie chose a powerful Venetian red. The designer also deliberately chose these colours to create a mix & match of white and dark brown or red and dark brown.
