The enamel bracelet is one of Hermès' most distinctive objects, and one of its most technical. The house has produced them since the 1960s: a metal core onto which enamel is applied, fired and then polished, creating that perfectly smooth, hard and deep surface that no paint can imitate. This also explains their longevity — well-treated enamel does not tarnish and retains its colours for decades.

The wide format gives the piece its presence. Where the slim model is understated, this one visibly occupies the wrist and becomes the focal point of the arm. It is a choice that calls for restraint elsewhere — the surface is too generous to be paired with anything else showy — and the design follows exactly that direction. No figurative motif borrowed from the scarves, no scene: deep old-rose enamel, framed at the top and bottom by black trim, with the HERMÈS Paris signature repeated as a motif. The brand turned into graphics.

The setting is in silver-tone metal, cooler and more contemporary than the usual gold of enamel bracelets. This choice changes the whole mood of the piece: the old rose takes on a particular depth, dressier and less sunlit. With a diameter of 6.5 cm and a length of 21 cm, it fits a wrist up to 18.5 cm. It can be worn alone for a pared-back look, or stacked with other bangles — the most common way it is worn by the house's collectors.
