Some houses make jewellery that shouts their name, while others prefer the line. Givenchy belongs to the latter category. Hubert de Givenchy built his reputation on pared-back elegance — the kind Audrey Hepburn wore throughout her life — and its accompanying jewellery follows the same logic: no monogram, no applied logo, just a carefully crafted shape that stands on its own.

These earrings are a fine example. The silhouette is winged and sculptural: two curves that unfold and echo one another, with an aerodynamic quality, almost in motion. It is distinctly 1990s jewellery in its vocabulary — the decade of confident volume and clean lines — yet treated with enough restraint not to look dated. The mirror-polished gold-plated metal catches the light across the entire curved surface without needing stones or rhinestones.

Their size-to-weight ratio is their main asset. At 4.5 cm high, they have a real presence on the ear, the kind that frames a face and is enough to elevate a plain outfit. Yet they are remarkably lightweight — which makes all the difference for jewellery of this size, where weight quickly becomes an issue after a few hours. The fitting is clip-on: no pierced ears required. The Givenchy hallmark appears on the back.
