The Baguette is the bag through which Fendi entered the history of contemporary ready-to-wear. Silvia Venturini Fendi designed it in 1997: a soft rectangle, barely wider than a paperback book, with a short handle designed to tuck under the arm — like a French baguette, hence the name. Its success surpassed anything that had come before. Carrie Bradshaw wore it throughout every season of Sex and the City, the house produced hundreds of variations, and the term “it bag” entered the fashion vocabulary to refer precisely to this bag.

What makes it so strong has not changed. A format that holds exactly what you need — no more, no less — and a clasp that has become an emblem: the interlocking FF logo, rendered as a metal loop set on a leather flap, closing magnetically in one motion. You open it with one hand and close it without thinking. It is a bag you wear without giving it a second thought.

This version comes in Zucchino jacquard canvas — the FF monogram woven into the fabric rather than printed, giving it a more matte, textile finish — in beige and navy. The fastening flap, trims and handle are in matching navy leather, while the hardware is silver-tone, with the signature FF clasp. A more understated colour choice than the pink, embroidered or glitter Baguettes that made the model legendary, and therefore easier to incorporate into a contemporary wardrobe. The interior holds a compact wallet, phone, AirPods, lipstick, keys and passport.

Good overall condition, grade B — clean jacquard canvas with light rubbing, navy leather details with light rubbing, silver-tone hardware showing use-related micro-scratches, clean corners, interior in good condition with signs of previous use and no odour. Everything is documented in photos. No major flaws to report. Sold with a RARR Vintage dust bag and certificate of authenticity.
